My uncle has old linoleum (at least 30 yrs old) over hardwood floor. How do I remove it?

Used adhesive to put down linoleum. I am afraid of damaging the hardwood. is there a product that will safely remove the linoleum and then the old dried-up adhesive that is left on the hardwood
