Is neediness considered an undesirable behavior?

My dog does the exact same thing. We think it lead her to have separation issues if she can see me for even a second she begins whining. She is over a year now and has learnt that if she is going to follow be around she should watch out and I am no longer tripping over her. But don't feel bad for scolding her, it gets really annoying. We are now going to training cles and she has learnt stay which really helps. So I recommend training cles or even buying a dog training book and teaching stay your self.
